Local Philanthropy

Our association support various local and national philanthropies that are chosen annually.  This past fall we enjoyed working together at the North Texas Food Bank.  We prepared 264 boxes which will in turn equals 6,600 meals!  What does mean as far a pallets or pounds that were moved?  Well, I've been told it equals 7,920 pounds!  It looks like a few Delta Psi Kappas gathered for a photo opportunity early on.

December is when we love to support our Rose McGill Sharing Program!  Our association is matched with one or two Kappas in need and our members contribute to a fund which supports our Kappa's holiday "wish list."  As a reminder the Rose McGill Holiday Sharing Program is a Kappa "family" support system for confidential aid recipients.

Spring is in the air  and we are so excited to be hosting a Reading Is Key event in April at Plano Head Start, a preschool program for 3- and 4- year-olds from low income families!!

Do you miss reading to or doing crafts with your children or grandchildren?  Then this is your chance!  Readers will be needed as well as lots of helpers to do crafts with the children.  Everything will be provided - you will just need to give of your time to these precious children.

Mark your calendar now to join us in April for just two hours!  Actually you will need to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early. Interested please sign up via signup genius!

We plan to give one take-home book to each child at the school.  We are about 40 books from our goal of 150 books, so if you have not yet donated a book, you may bring one to the next Kappa meeting or drop it off to eith Judi or Judy our Philanthropy Chair!

Please let them know if you have any questions!  This is one Reading Is Key event you won't want to miss!

Unable to attend a meeting but want to contribute to one of our many local philanthropy, please email our Philanthropy Chair.
